Terms of Service
Effective 18 August 2026. These terms govern the use of Atalen, an independent editorial publication covering men's dietary supplement habits, daily nutritional awareness, and active lifestyle practices for readers in Indonesia. By browsing this website, a visitor agrees to use it lawfully, respectfully, and in a manner consistent with the purpose described in this document. Atalen operates from Jalan Kebayoran Baru No. 23, 12190 Jakarta Selatan, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia, and can be reached at +62 21 2184 7207 or [email protected].
1. Acceptance and scope
These terms apply to every page published under the Atalen domain, including the homepage, individual articles, the About and Methodology pages, and the Contact page, together with any future page added under the same domain. A visitor who does not agree with these terms should discontinue use of the website; continued browsing after a change to these terms, as described in section 10, is treated as acceptance of the revised version. These terms sit alongside, and do not replace, the separate Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, both linked in the footer of every page. Where a specific page states an additional condition, such as a submission guideline on the Contact page, that condition applies in addition to, and does not narrow, the general terms set out here.
2. Editorial nature of the content
Atalen publishes articles, editor's notes, and reference material intended for general informational and educational reading, drawing on published nutritional sources and the editorial team's own review of them. Content is written in an editorial voice, may include interpretation, and reflects the perspective of the author and the date of publication rather than a permanent or universal statement. A reader remains responsible for deciding whether information discussed in an article is relevant to their own personal circumstances and is encouraged to consult a qualified professional before making a personal decision based on anything read here. Atalen does not operate as a retailer, a professional practice, or a personal advisory service, and no article should be read as personal guidance directed at an individual reader.
3. Permitted use of the website
A reader may view pages, quote short passages with clear attribution to Atalen and a link back to the original article, and share links to published pages through ordinary social or professional channels. Full articles or substantial portions of them may not be copied into another publication, database, or commercial product without Atalen's prior written permission, which can be requested through the Contact page. Automated access, such as a script or crawler, must respect the instructions published in the website's robots.txt file and must not place unreasonable load on Atalen's servers. A reader must not attempt to bypass a technical control on the website, interfere with another reader's ability to access it, or use the website in a way that violates applicable law in Indonesia or in the reader's own jurisdiction.
4. Reader contributions and correspondence
Messages sent through the Contact page, story suggestions, and any material a reader chooses to share with the editorial desk should be accurate to the best of the sender's knowledge, lawful, and free of content that infringes another party's rights. By sending a message, a reader grants Atalen permission to read, reply to, and where directly relevant, reference the substance of that message internally for editorial follow-up, without publishing the sender's personal details unless separately agreed. Atalen reserves the right to decline to act on a suggestion, to edit a quoted passage for length and clarity before any planned publication, and to disregard correspondence that is abusive, unlawful, or unrelated to the publication's editorial purpose. A contributor who wishes a piece of correspondence to remain entirely off the record should state that clearly in the message itself.
5. Intellectual property
The text, layout, and original photography published on Atalen are owned by Atalen or used under a licence from the relevant rights holder, and remain protected by applicable copyright law even where a page does not display a separate copyright notice. The Atalen name and any associated logotype are identifiers of this publication and may not be used to suggest an affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement that does not exist. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to a reader; permitted use is limited to the licence described in section 3. Where an article credits an external source or image licensor, that credit reflects the specific rights arrangement for that item and does not extend a broader licence to the rest of the website.
6. Links to third-party websites
An article may link to a source, a published study summary, or another external website for reference or further reading, and such a link is included because the editorial team considered it relevant at the time of publication. Atalen does not control the content of an external website and is not responsible for how that website is operated, how it handles a visitor's information, or whether its content later changes after the link was published. A reader who follows an external link does so at their own discretion and should review that destination's own terms and privacy notice. Inclusion of a link does not imply that Atalen endorses every claim made on the linked page.
7. Disclaimers
Atalen provides this website and its content on an informational basis and does not represent that any article is complete, current at the moment of reading, or free of every possible error, although reasonable editorial care is applied before publication. The website and its content are provided as they stand, without a promise of uninterrupted availability, and Atalen may take the site offline temporarily for maintenance or technical reasons without prior notice. Nothing on this website constitutes personal advice directed at an individual reader's specific circumstances, and a reader should not treat any article as a substitute for independent judgement or consultation with a suitably qualified professional. Atalen does not promise a particular personal outcome from reading any article published on this website.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted under applicable Indonesian law, Atalen's liability for a claim arising from use of this website is limited to direct losses that were a reasonably foreseeable consequence of Atalen's own act or omission, and does not extend to indirect or consequential loss. Atalen is not liable for a loss arising from a reader's decision made in reliance on an editorial article, from a temporary unavailability of the website, or from the content or practices of a third-party website reached through a link described in section 6. Nothing in this section is intended to exclude a liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law. Where a limitation described in this section is found unenforceable in a particular circumstance, the remaining limitations continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted.
9. Governing law and dispute resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles that would apply the law of a different jurisdiction. A dispute arising from these terms should first be raised directly with Atalen through the Contact page or the details listed in section 10, so that the matter can be addressed informally where possible. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within a reasonable period, it falls within the jurisdiction of the courts competent for Jakarta Selatan, DKI Jakarta, unless a mandatory rule of consumer protection law grants the reader a different venue. Nothing in this section prevents a reader from exercising a right that cannot be waived under applicable law.
10. Changes to these terms
Atalen may update these terms from time to time to reflect a change in the website's features, applicable law, or editorial practice, and will update the effective date shown at the top of this page whenever a substantive change is made. A minor clarification that does not change a reader's rights or obligations may be made without a separate announcement, while a material change will be flagged with a short notice on this page for a reasonable period after publication. This version, effective 18 August 2026, expanded the disclaimer described in section 7 and clarified the dispute-resolution venue described in section 9. The previous version, dated 2 February 2026, first introduced the intellectual-property section describing the Atalen name and logotype, and the original version, dated 20 October 2025, accompanied the initial launch of the website.
